My EOTWAWKI belt has a Cobra Buckle and a full-length internal belt. It did not come this way. The original belt had half-length straps with plastic buckles that were attached to either end of the external belt (very much similar to the first picture). This was a significant weak point in the belt’s construction.

I cut the two half-length belts off. I then had a canal through which I ran the full-length belt and emplaced a full-length belt with Cobra buckles. In order to prevent the two belts from slipping forward or backward I took a needle, a Gerber tool and dental floss and I PAINSTAKINGLY sewed (attached) the external belt to the internal belt. I did this along the entirety of the mating surface of the external and internal belt system.

The attached pictures will assist in visualizing what I’ve described.

A detailed layout of the addition of the full-length belt with cobra buckle is included in the accompanying photographs.
